We want to inform you of the changes the Scottish Government has introduced for NHS dentistry in Scotland.

The changes will include:

A change in the number of treatments available

How often those treatments can be provided to patients

An increase in NHS costs for some treatments

The frequency you will be able to attend for an NHS dental examination will be based on your individual clinical need. For most patients this will mean a change from 6 monthly NHS examinations, to between 12-24 months. Your dentist will inform you how this change may affect you personally when you attend for your next NHS examination appointment.

Any NHS appointments already booked will be honoured, so please attend your appointment as normal. You do not need to contact your practice team regarding these. However, should you need to change your appointment our reception team will be happy to help.

2022 was a busy year as we completed extensive renovations at 147 Bruntsfield Place. These had been delayed due to the pandemic and resulted in some restrictions to the service we could provide but we are pleased to say that we are now back to providing all routine care for patients.

We now have easier access for patients with limited mobility and have a permanent ramp in place.  We also have a bike rack for those who visit us on two wheels! We have also installed a new surgery downstairs and have another dentist working within the practice; this allows us to register new NHS patients.
